Your child’s school has informed you they would like assistance from the School of Special Educational Needs: Behaviour and Engagement (SSEN:BE). Would you like to know what this means for your child and you? Learn about your role as a caregiver; our services; the facilities; the programs we offer; and access helpful support information.
School principals or their delegates can request assistance from the School of Special Educational Needs: Behaviour and Engagement (SSEN:BE). Learn how to request appropriate support and access resources.
The School of Special Educational Needs: Behaviour and Engagement (SSEN:BE) provides a continuum of services for schools supporting students with extreme, complex, and challenging behaviours.
SSEN:BE works with public schools, providing comprehensive tools and programs to suit individual student needs. Our continuum of services include: professional learning; consultative support; and direct student support.
Professional learning may be facilitated from Engagement Centre staff or from the Classroom Management Strategies (CMS)
Consultative support for schools needing additional assistance with planning for those students with very complex needs
Direct support for school staff to assist with plan implementation and/or direct support to students as part of a planned intervention.
SSEN: BE has responsibility and oversight for the delivery and monitoring of services and support for students with extreme, complex and challenging behaviours across the public school system. Services are delivered with a focus on improvement and establishes culture of learning for students and staff.
