SSEN:BE staff have made significant progress building systematic partnerships with key agencies that have improved access to services for students and families and schools. Some recent highlights of this work are:
- The Big Picture Education (BPE) partnership with the Midland Learning Academy and the implementation of personalised learning using the BPE design
- Child and Adolescent Psychiatry training for all SSEN:BE school psychologists to improve collaborative work with CAMHS
- Inclusion of SSEN:BE staff in Pathways referral processes and placement of students in the CAMHS specialist program
- Increased support at Banksia Hill Detention Centre integrating the role of SSEN:BE Youth Transition Coordinators in the transition support for students exiting the centre
- The commencement of an initiative to strengthening relationships with a range of services for Aboriginal child and families
Support for the development of the School of Special Educational Needs: Disability Online Education Service and the creation of new modules for school staff and SSEN:BE staff
